Summary:

One day Labove finally snaps. As he kneels down to touch Eula's desk with his face, she returns and happens upon him. He loses him composure and grabs her and starts to wrestle with her. She breaks loose and hits him in the face, and he tumbles to the ground. She stands over him and calls him, "old headless horseman Ichabod Crane" (135), and runs out. Thinking he is doomed, Labove thinks about what he thinks will be his impending confrontation with Jody.
