Summary:
Ratliff and Stevens find Mink at the bottom of a cistern and give him $250 dollars. Mink says he's going to move on. While walking away Ratliff jokes that he hopes Linda does not have a daughter, because, he tells Gavin, "You done already been through two Eula Varners and I don't think you can stand another one" (476).
