Notes:
past and present ==Rider inhabiting a former time – “crossing the junctureless trepan of time back-loop” this scene takes Rider back to a former moment -it is almost as though he is still in those memories we’ve been seeing in the movement sections.
Summary:
After running through swamp and woods and fields, Rider moves into a narrower, more recognizable environment when he joins Birdsong and the gamblers at the mill. But the narrative retains a trace of that earlier energy: “And now he was moving . . . crossing the clearing, entering the boiler shed and through it” (250). This momentum continues through the description of the smooth, single movement with which Rider kills Birdsong.
