Summary:
While Popeye is attacking her in the crib, Temple seems to have a kind of psychotic break: she sees herself screaming "Something is happening to me!" to Pap, the deaf and blind "old man with the yellow clots for eyes" (102). It is, however, remotely possible that this actually happened.
