Horace goes to the jail. Ruby is in Goodwin's cell with him. Goodwin is afraid that Popeye will shoot him through the cell window. Horace tries to persuade Ruby to leave with him but she refuses. Horace leaves and returns with a package containing milk, candy and cigars. Horace goes over Ruby's testimony with her. Ruby tells Horace that she was anticipating paying Horace for his legal services by having sex with him.
