Description:
Chick Mallison goes to shoot quail at a place he refers to only as "Sartoris" (254). This is the large plantation that John Sartoris built during the antebellum period and then rebuilt after it was burned by Yankee soldiers during the Civil War; it appears in many of the Yoknapatawpha fictions.
