Unnamed Father-in-Law of Ike McCaslin

This "bank president," who tells Ike about the bank account in Ike's name that Cass Edmonds has been paying money into (295), is certainly not Bayard Sartoris, who is also a Jefferson bank president at the time of the novel. This "bank president" is never named, but although the text is not explicit, it seems likely that he is the father of the woman - also never named - whom Ike marries. She and Ike meet while Ike and his partner are "building the [banker's] barn this time from the ground up" (296), which seems to refer back to the "stable of the bank's president" that Ike and his partner work on earlier (295).
