Summary:
Granny Rosa Millard interrupts Louvinia to say, with alarm, that Loosh has shown the Union soldiers where the silver is buried. She is held back from intervening as the trunk is unearthed and taken, but she confronts Loosh for his betrayal; the scene ends with Loosh and his wife Philadelphy leaving, now that they have been freed, and Granny, Bayard, and Ringo angrily decrying the Union Army "bastuds" who have set fire to the house (75).
