Date:
Sunday, January 10, 1937 to Friday, April 30, 1937
Notes:
If his name is "Stonewall Jackson Odlethrop," then Monk hasn't heard it for almost twenty years (47). The narrator thinks that the source of the knowledge could either from his "grandmother (if grandmother she was)" or the country school he attended for one year (48).
Should Unnamed Schoolmates of Monk be listed as characters? Also I listed the characters about whom the narrator is speculating as "mentioned" since they're not actually there. Please let me know if that's not right.
Summary:
The narrator speaks to readers directly and speculates about the origins of Monk's given name, and if it even is his given name.
