Bank of Jefferson in "Elly" (Location)

Elly's fiance, Philip, is a cashier in "the bank" (213). The story does not say which of the two banks in Jefferson is meant: the one founded by Bayard Sartoris, that plays a major role in Faulkner's novels about the Sartoris and the Snopes families, or the older Bank of Jefferson. Our assumption that Philip works in the older bank is a speculation.
