Visualizations
In this section of the project we provide eight different ways to explore the world that Faulkner created through visual re-presentations. The gallery of photographs of the real world that Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha derives from can almost speak for itself, though it's important to remember that none of the photos was or could have been taken in "Yoknapatawpha" - a place that exists only in Faulkner's imagination and his art. The other resources here take advantage of the capacities of computer technology to transform our data about Locations, Characters and Events into more radical forms of display. It may take a while to get used to these re-conceptualizations of the fictions, but we hope you will find at least some of them useful as tools of discovery.
